‘In six days there will be no more chocolate in the world … ever!’
That’s what it said on The Seven Show.
Jelly had nearly reached the next level of Zombie Puppy Dash, but hearing this made her plunge the pink puppy into a huge tank of zombie dog food.
‘Woah! What was that about chocolate?’ she asked, putting her tablet down.
‘Something about it running out,’ said Mum, popping a chunk of chocolate into her mouth. ‘Oh, you can’t beat a Blocka Choca, eh!’

About the book

Jelly and her family live in Chompton-on-de-Lyte, where everyone loves a Blocka Choca bar or two.

So when the end of chocolate is announced, she can’t believe it. Determined to investigate, Jelly and her gran follow a trail of clues to a posh chocolate shop and its owner, the pompous Garibaldi Chocolati. Gari’s suspiciously smug, despite his failing business and yucky chocolate. Is it really the chocopocalypse, or is there a chocoplot afoot?

'This is a story that came from a random comment, but it bounced and bounced around inside my head. The thought of chocolate disappearing forever kept me awake at night! I talked about it with my daughter and we quickly realized how silly people would behave if they knew it was happening. So, instead of a horror story it became a silly story. But I still lose sleep thinking about it!'
