To celebrate the paperback release of The Fever Code, the fifth book in James Dashner's multi-million-selling Maze Runner series, we decided to launch with something a little more ... mysterious!

We sent MTV UK and YouTubers Joe Tasker and Amber Doig-Thorne a locked safe each to crack – with the promise of something super-exciting waiting inside for them. Armed with just a particularly cryptic edition of The Fever Code, a UV torch and (of course!) the entire online Dashner Army to help, we challenged them to #CrackTheFeverCode live on Facebook!

Amber, Joe and MTV UK worked their way through the clues live on Facebook using special UV torches and the expert knowledge of Maze Runner mega-fans to successfully crack The Fever Code and gain access to the safes.

Inside the safes they discovered USB sticks, each containing exclusive video messages from author James Dashner, in which he revealed exciting some never-before-shared Maze Runner secrets. Take a look at the vids below to uncover the secrets for yourself ...
